Heju New Logistics' safe delivery of boarding bridges helps Chinese intelligent manufacturing go global smoothly.

2026-02-05

I. Project Background: Made in China, Sailing to Latin America

Recently, Heju New Logistics successfully transported a batch of passenger boarding bridges for airport construction, which departed from Zhangjiagang, China, and safely arrived at the Port of Manzanillo, Mexico. This batch of equipment has a unique structure and high value; its safe and timely delivery is directly related to the construction progress of overseas airport projects.

II. Core Challenge: The Extreme Compression of Time and Space

This shipment faces three major challenges; any mistake in any link will lead to delays and high costs.

(a) Challenge 1: The window of opportunity for port entry is almost zero

Traditionally, large equipment needs to be brought to port several days in advance. However, in this operation, the arrival and berthing of the vessel and the arrival of the cargo overlapped significantly. All cargo entry, customs clearance, and loading operations had to be completed within the vessel's limited waiting time; otherwise, huge demurrage fees would be incurred.

(II) Challenge 2: The problem of loading "non-stackable" cargo

The boarding bridges are enormous (the largest single piece measures 20.46m x 3.68m x 4.33m and weighs 37.3 tons) and irregularly shaped, making them typical "non-stackable" cargo. This greatly increases the complexity and difficulty of ship loading, requiring precise planning of loading locations and occupying valuable cargo space.

(III) Challenge 3: The pressure of multi-stage and cross-regional coordination

The operation requires simultaneous coordination of multiple stages, including pickup in Shenzhen, long-distance land transportation, port collection in Zhangjiagang, customs declaration and clearance, and loading at the terminal, within a very short period of time, placing extreme demands on the precision of project management and emergency response capabilities.

III. Solution: Precise Pre-simulation and Dynamic Collaboration

Faced with extreme challenges, the Heju New Logistics team launched a "special support mechanism" to break through the impasse through proactive communication and flexible solutions.

(i) "Dynamic loading" cooperation mechanism to lock in the shipping schedule

Pre-event rehearsal:Before the vessel arrives at the port, we provide the shipping company with detailed three-dimensional data of the cargo, photos of the center of gravity, and loading suggestions, and jointly develop multiple loading plans (A/B/C).

Strive for a window of opportunity:With a professional port arrival schedule and operational plan, we successfully persuaded the shipping company to allow flexible waiting time and made advance arrangements for loading and unloading resources in port.

(II) Implement “full-link visualization” for precise scheduling

Seamless connection between vehicles and ships:Based on vessel dynamics, we accurately reverse-engineer and dispatch land transport vehicles to ensure the optimal order of cargo arrival at the port and avoid port congestion.

Pre-customs processing:All customs documents are reviewed in advance, and the customs declaration process is initiated while the goods are en route. By using the "advance declaration" model, we ensure that the customs release instructions are basically ready when the goods arrive at the port.

(III) Implement "customized" on-site operational support

Specialized tooling design:Customized padding and binding solutions were developed for the boarding bridge support points to ensure structural safety during temporary storage at the dock and loading onto ships.

On-site supervision throughout the entire installation process:Professional engineers provide on-site supervision to ensure that every loading and unloading action complies with the plan and eliminates the risk of cargo damage.

IV. Project Outcomes: Data and Facts Prove Professional Value

Through the above approach, we have successfully achieved:

Seamless connection:Within a very short time after the ship berths, all boarding bridges are safely, orderly, and efficiently moved to the port and loaded onto the ship.

Zero standby time:The vessel departed strictly according to plan, without incurring any demurrage charges, thus ensuring the client's critical progress on their overseas construction project.

Zero loss:All boarding bridges and accessories were delivered in perfect condition, earning high praise from the customer.
